De Show moet doorgaan in Oudenhoorn

Na een emotionele en moeilijke week waarin wij afscheid hebben genomen van Evert Snapper moest het toch weer gebeuren afgelopen zaterdag 11 juni te Oudenhoorn. Gelukkig waren we schadevrij uit de wedstrijd in Bernay gekomen.

De miniklasse was als tweede aan de beurt op een baan die ogenschijnlijk aan het opknappen was naarmate de klassen vorderde. De sleepwagen stond vrij zwaar afgesteld, maar het lukte de Vampire als enige om toch een fullpull te trekken. Waarna de Riddle met een afstand van 108.25 meter zichzelf ook van een plaats in de finale verzekerde. Na een paar andere tractoren was het aan Couzijn om de Little Bandit ook te plaatsen. Met een vrij onstuimige run was het de Little Bandit toch gelukt om een afstand van 101.73 meter te bereiken. Hierna was het alleen de Lambada die zich ook plaatste voor de finale.
 
Als eerste ging de Vampire weer van start en met een flinke afstand wederom, van 93.35 meter. De Riddle moest het hieraan afleggen. De Little Bandit ging mooi van start, helaas brak de blowerbelt bij de 40 meter dus het podium zat er niet in. De Lambade werd uiteindelijk tweede, op 3 meter afstand van de Vampire. Er wordt een nieuwe snout op de Little Bandit gezet deze week en we zullen de blowerbelt misschien iets eerder verwisselen, deze had er al zo’n 3 jaar opgezeten. In het nationale kampioenschap staat de Little Bandit 1ste met 6 punten verschil op de nummers 2.

Een heel eind verder op de avond was het aan de Light Modifieds om de strijd aan te gaan. Na onze eerste run werd het nagelbijten of we de finale hadden gehaald, door dat we de tractor niet helemaal juist afgesteld hadden. Gelukkig bleek de afstand van 104.15 meter net genoeg voor de 4e finaleplek. De Russian Roulette had voor ons een afstand van 78.81 meter neergezet in de finale. De Eurol Bandit haakte mooi op, maar trok helaas snel naar links waarna Henk de tractor niet meer om kreeg. We hoopten op rechts te kunnen eindigen. Toch een dikke afstand van 93.30 meter, maar we hadden het gevoel dat het niet genoeg zou zijn. De Jong Special kwam 3 meter eerder tot stilstand. Helaas had de Wicked Screamer meer gang, en passeerde onze afstand met zon 5 meter.

We zijn toch heel tevreden met deze 2e plek, tevens onze plaats in het kampioenschap nu op 2 punten achterstand van de Wicked Screamer. De Little Bandit zal zaterdag 18 juni op de wedstrijd in Made verschijnen en de Eurol Bandit zal over een paar weken weer te zien zijn in Eext op 2 juli. Hopelijk tot ziens!

After an emotional and tough week in which we have said goodbye to Evert Snapper, we still had to compete last Saturday the 11th of June in Oudenhoorn. Luckily we had had no damages after the match in Bernay.

The Mini class was up second on a track which was seemingly getting better after the classes progressed. The sledge was set pretty heavy, but the Vampire still managed to be the only one to cross the fullpull line. After which the Riddle also ensured itself a place in the finale, with a distance of 108.25 meters. After a couple other tractors it was up to Couzijn to qualify the Little Bandit also. With a quite turbulent run the Little Bandit still managed to reach a distance of 101.73 meters. After that it was just the Lambada who also qualified for the finale.

First up was the Vampire with a far distance once again, 93.35 meters. The Riddle could not surpass this. The Little Bandit started nice, sadly the blowerbelt snapped at around 40 meters so a place on the trophy stage was out of the question. The Lambada ended second, at three meter distance of the Vampire. There will be a new snout placed on the Little Bandit this week and we might change the blowerbelt a bit earlier, which has been in place the last 3 years. In the national championship the Little Bandit currently takes up first place, with the numbers two 6 points behind.

A lot later on the evening the Light Modifieds had to compete. After our first run it was suspenseful whether we had made it to the finale, because we did not fine-tune the tractor quite right. Thankfully the distance of 104.15 meters was just enough for the 4th place in the finale. The Russian Roulette had set down a distance of 78.81 meters before us in the finale. The Eurol Bandit went up nicely, but pulled fast to the left unfortunately after which Henk could not get the tractor in the different direction. We had hoped to finish on the right side of the track. Still a strong distance of 93.30 meters, but we sensed it would not be enough. The Jong Special ended 3 meters before us. Unfortunately the Wicked Screamer pulled harder and surpassed our distance with 5 meters.

We are pleased with the 2nd place, also our place in the championship currently 2 points behind the Wicked Screamer. The Little Bandit will appear on Saturday 18th of June at the pull in Made and the Eurol Bandit will show up in a couple of weeks from now in Eext, Saturday the 2nd of July. Hopefully we will see you there!
