Afgelopen zaterdag was het dan weer tijd voor de eerste competitiewedstrijd. Toen het zonnetje nog scheen ‘s middags begon de wedstrijd met de Mini Unlimited klasse. Pokerface zette de toon met  een afstand rond de 70 meter. Als eerste van de kleine giganten was de Lambada 9 aan de beurt, de honderd meter werd net niet behaald doordat er problemen waren met de achteras. Vervolgens is hierdoor  ook een flinke motorschade opgelopen door die mini. Ondanks dat redde de Vampire, Challenger, Exception en de Gompie het niet om deze afstand te kloppen. Maar de Reny Mission Impossible beleefde een gloriemoment toen het de afstand van de Lambada verbeterde met een kleine meter. Hierna moest Couzijn van start met de Little Bandit. Het was een tricky baantje, maar Couzijn lette goed op en met een beetje remmen hier en daar behaalde de Little Bandit dan ook een snoeiharde fullpull (voorbij de 110 meter). Toen was het aan de Riddle om er nog een finale van te maken. Met een mooie rustigere run wist ook Marcel Doppenberg de Riddle naar een fullpull te rijden. Een complete Puttense finale dus! Na een moment van intermezzo was de motor van de Little Bandit genoeg afgekoeld om weer van start te gaan. Met een prachtige run zette de Little Bandit de leidersvlag op een afstand van 99.03 meter. De Riddle kwam hierna iets meer dan 2 meter te kort om de eerste plek te kunnen afpakken van ons. Kortom, de toon was gezet in de mini klasse!

Rond een uur of half 7 mochten de Light Modifieds dan ook eindelijk van start. Door de weersomstandigheden werd vooraf besloten om floating finish te gaan rijden. Dus iedereen zou in principe 1x van start gaan, alleen als de 120 meter zou worden gepasseerd zou er nog een finale komen. De eerste officiële run werd uiteindelijk verreden door de Woody Woodpecker, die buiten de baan kwam en daardoor gediskwalificeerd werd. Daarna had de Jong Special een mooie run die een afstand van 105.16 meter opleverde. De Russian Roullette XL,  Brother’s Toy, Rocket Science en Green Spirit moesten het dan ook allemaal afleggen tegen deze afstand. De Wicked Screamer trok de sleepwagen toch nog zo’n drie meter verder als de Jong Special. Als laatste was de Eurol Bandit aan de beurt. De tactiek was om op rechts te beginnen en om aan de linkerkant te eindigen. Dit lukte, en dankzij het nodige remwerk van Henk bleef de tractor net binnen de baan met een afstand van 111.04 meter! Er kwam wel veel olie uit de motoren op het eind, maar we weten nog niet helemaal of dit een teken van schade was.

We zijn ontzettend blij met deze twee overwinningen! We zullen deze week nog vol aan de bak moeten om beide tractoren weer op tijd klaar te stomen voor de Eurocup wedstrijd in Zweden a.s. vrijdag 20 mei. Check niet alleen de beelden van ons filmpje via Youtube, maar ook de beelden van de 360 camera onder deze tekst. Voor het mooiste beeld moet je de resolutie op de hoogste kwaliteit zetten. 

English Version: The first blow is half the battle in Stroe

Last Saturday, the first pull of the competition has commenced. When the sun was still shining in the afternoon the pull began with the Mini Unlimited class. Pokerface kicked off with a distance around the 70 meter. First up from all the little giants was the Lambada 9, the hundred meter was just out of reach as there were problems with the rear-axle. Accordingly, that mini incurred some heavy engine damage. Despite that, the Vampire, Challenger, Exception and Gompie were not able to trump this distance. But the Reny Mission Impossible experienced a moment of glory as it beat the distance of the Lambada with a small meter. After this Couzijn was up with the Little Bandit. The track was a little tricky, but Couzijn was paying full attention and with a little breaking here and there the Little Bandit pulled a grand fullpull. Following that it was up to the Riddle to create a finale. With a nice more calm run Marcel Doppenberg was able to take the Riddle over the fullpull line. Thus a final filled with mini’s from Putten! After a short intermezzo the engines had been cooled enough to start again. With a marvelous run the Little Bandit was able to place the leader-flag at a distance of 99.03 meters. The Riddle came up short a little more than 2 meters to be able to take over the first place. In short, the tone is set in the mini class!

Around the hour of 6.30 p.m. the Light Modifieds were also able to start. Due to weather circumstances it had been decided in advance to drive floating finish. Thus everybody would start once, only when the 120 meter line should be crossed a final would be driven. The first official run was eventually done by the Woody Woodpecker, who was out of bounce and therefore disqualified. Afterwards the Jong Special had a nice run which delivered a distance of 105.16 meters. The Russian Roullette XL, Brother’s Toy, Rocket Science and Green Spirit all had to succumb to this distance. The Wicked Screamer pulled the sledge about three meters farther as the Jong Special. Last up was the Eurol Bandit. The tactics were to start at the right and to end up at the left side of the track. This worked, and thanks to the required breaking done by Henk the tractor stayed within the lines with a distance of 111.04 meters! A lot of oil did come from the engines at the end, but we do not yet know whether this was a sign of any damage.

We are very happy with these two victories. We shall be doing some intensive work to get both tractors ready for the Europcup pull in Sweden upcoming Friday the 20th of May. Do not only check the footage of our movie at Youtube, but also the footage from the 360 camera trough below the text. For the best impression you have to put the resolution on the highest quality.

Aanstaande zaterdag is het weer zover, de eerste buitenwedstrijd van het seizoen in Stroe! Wij hebben na Zwolle, Ahoy en Assen niet stil gezeten. Voor de Eurol Bandit hebben we verschillende nieuwe sponsoren weten aan te trekken, onder andere Vrijbloed Transport B.V., G.M. Damsteegt B.V., Adviesburo-Spek, 360 Fly – Havoned en de Barneveldse Gear Service. Wij zijn zeer dankbaar voor de steun van hen en natuurlijk die van de andere sponsoren die al jaren meedoen! Er zitten nieuwe banden op de Eurol Bandit en de achteras is grondig aangepakt. Het standaard onderhoud is gedaan. Er zijn voornamelijk aanpassingen gedaan aan de dingen die het competitie rijden met de tractor mogelijk maken. De bus heeft namelijk een grotere brandstof tank gekregen, met een werkende meter zodat we hopelijk nooit meer langs de weg hoeven te tanken. Ook zijn er nieuwe stickers op de bus geplaatst en is deze gekeurd. Er is een nieuwe startmotor aangeschaft omdat de oude niet meer door de keuring van de ARBO kwam. Tevens hebben we een nieuwe gadget, een heuse tablet om de Racepak perfect te kunnen uitlezen. Daarbij hebben we van de sponsor 360 Fly-Havoned een 360 camera gekregen om te kijken wat de camera zal doen onder de extreme omstandigheden van een Tractorpulling run.

Ook bij de Little Bandit zit de druk erop om de goede resultaten van het indoorseizoen te kunnen volhouden. De tractor is volledig gecheckt na Assen en zijn er verschillende sets banden binnengekomen uit Amerika. Tevens heeft Couzijn een quad aangeschaft, die de startkar zal vervoeren. De mini vrachtwagen heeft ook wat aanpassingen ondervonden, zo zijn er een tank en standkachel in geplaatst. Tevens heeft de Little Bandit nieuwe sponsoren gevonden in VD Mheen Foodservices, KVW, Wim Staal, J vd Brink & zonen en Andre Motors. Maar alle hulp is welkom, dus mocht je het leuk om wat bij te dragen horen we dat graag! Ook is het iedereen vrij om lid te worden van de club van 99 en de club van 100.

De Mini Unlimiteds zullen zaterdag aftrappen in Stroe om 14.00 op baan 1. De Light Modified zal als 4e klasse op dezelfde baan verschijnen, waarschijnlijk rond 18.00. Hopelijk tot ziens! 

English Version: Update before Stroe

Upcoming Saturday the time is there again, the First outside pull of the season in Stroe! We did not lay low after Zwolle, Ahoy and Assen. For the Eurol Bandit we have found several new sponsors, among others Vrijbloed Transport B.V., G.M. Damsteegt B.V., Adviesburo-Spek, 360 Fly – Havoned and the Barneveldse Gear Service. We are very grateful for their support and of those who have been supporting us for years! There are some new tires on the Eurol Bandit and the rear axle has been thoroughly handled. The standard maintenance has been done. Primarily there have been done some adjustments to the things which enable the tractor to compete. Namely, the bus has gotten a bigger fuel tank. With an actual indicator, so hopefully we never have to tank alongside a road anymore. Also new stickers have been placed upon the bus and it has been certified again. A new starting engine has been bought as the old one did not comply with the safety regulations anymore. Moreover we have obtained a new gadget, a tablet to perfectly outline the Racepak program. Alongside that we have received a 360 camera from the 360 Fly-Havoned company to see what the camera does under the extreme circumstances of a Tractorpulling run.

Additionally, the Little Bandit team also feels the pressure to keep up the good results from the indoor season. The tractor has been fully checked after Assen and various tires sets have arrived from the U.S. Couzijn also bought a quad, which will haul the starting engine. The mini truck also has encompassed some adjustments, as a new tank and independent vehicle heater have been placed in it. The Little Bandit has found new sponsors as well, in the companies of VD Mheen Foodservices, KVW, Wim Staal, J vd Brink & zonen and Andre Motors. However all the support is appreciated, so if you would like to contribute we would love to hear that! Moreover everybody is more than welcome to join the club of 99 and the club of 100.

The Mini Unlimiteds will kick off the pull in Stroe at 14.00 on track 1. The Light Modified will appear on the same track as the fourth class, probably around 18.00. Hopefully we will see you there!

Na de wedstrijd in Zwolle in januari hadden we wat meer schade al verwacht aan de Little Bandit. Er moesten 3 nieuwe zuigers gemonteerd worden aangezien deze waren gesmolten. Ook de banden werden weer geslepen voor de wedstrijd in Ahoy Rotterdam afgelopen zaterdag de 5e van maart. Na  uiteindelijk op vrijdagavond nog de mini gestart te hebben, waren we er klaar voor! Andre van de Ridder mocht proberen om te revancheren na de korte teleurstellende runs van het EK. De mini klasse werd  als eerste klasse van de avondsessie verreden. De fullpull lijn in Ahoy lag op 60 meter, vanaf 55 meter was er de kans op een finaleplek.

In de pull-of ging Lambada 9 als eerste van start, met een goede run werd meteen een fullpull gehaald. De sleepwagen werd niet verzet. Daarna de Vampire met een afstand van 54.55 meter, net niet genoeg voor een finaleplek. De Reny Mission Impossible, Catweazle, Challenger en de Little Rascal kwamen niet tot de 55 meter. De Gompie strandde bij de 33.63 meter vanwege een wilde run. Lambada 8 behaalde een afstand van 57.15 meter en was dus daarmee de 2e finalist.

Als laatste in de klasse mocht Andre van start met de Little Bandit. De ketting stond nog  niet strak of hij ging volgas van start en behaalde de fullpull lijn met gemak! De derde plaats was in ieder geval vastgesteld. De sleepwagenafstelling werd niet veranderd in de finale. De Lambada 9 kwam niet verder als 22.29 meter door flinke problemen met de achteras. Daarna trok de Lambada 8 de sleepwagen 4 centimeter minder ver als zijn eerste run. Toen was het aan de Little Bandit om de afstand van 57.11 te overtreffen. Andre ging goed van start en met een mooie run trok de mini de sleepwagen wederom over de fullpull lijn, dit keer met een afstand van 62.18 meter. Een super mooi resultaat voor ons in de havenstad dus!

Al met al kunnen we zeggen dat het voorseizoen bijna niet beter kon voor ons en zullen we er alles aan doen om deze resultaten te blijven behalen in het buitenseizoen. Mocht je ons hierbij willen steunen dan horen we dat graag! Tot ziens in Stroe op 14 mei 2015 waar allebei de tractoren weer op het strijdtoneel zullen verschijnen!

English Version: A Little (Big) Revenge in Ahoy

After the pull in Zwolle in January, we encountered more damage than we had expected on the Little Bandit. Three new pistons had to be mounted, since the old ones had melted. The tires were also sharpened before the pull in Ahoy Rotterdam last Saturday the fifth of March. After we eventually had started the mini on Friday night, we were ready to compete!  Andre van de Ridder was given the chance to  revenge himself after the short disappointing runs of the EC. The minipullers were up as the first class of the evening session. The fullpull line lay at 60 meters in Ahoy, from 55 meters on there was a chance on a spot in the finals.

In the pull-of Lambada 9 was up first, with a good run the fullpull line was crossed immediately. The sledge did not change its settings. After that the Vampire came to a distance of 54.55 meters, just a little short for a place in the finale. The Reny Mission Impossible, Catweazle, Challenger and the Little Rascal did not make it past the 55 meters. The Gompie stranded at the 33.63 meters due to a wild run. Lambada 8 came to a distance of 57.15 meters and thus became the 2nd finalist.

Being the last in the class, Andre was up to start the Little Bandit. The chain was not set tight or he pushed the mini to full throttle and made it to the fullpull line easily! The third place was in the pocket in any case. The sledge settings were not changed in the finals. The Lambada 9 did not make it further than 22.29 meters due to huge problems with their rear axle. After which the Lambada 8 pulled the sledge just 4 centimeters short from his first pull. Then it was up to the Little Bandit to surpass the distance of 57.11 meters. Andre started off well and with a nice run the mini pulled the sledge across the fullpull line once again, this time with a distance of 62.18 meters. Thus a great result for us in the port city.

All in all we can say that we almost could not have made it through the pre-season any better and we shall do anything within our powers to keep up these results in the season outside. If you are willing to support us in any way, we would like to hear that! See you in Stroe on May the 14th where both tractors will appear again on the battlefield!

Zaterdag 23 januari was weer zo ver, de eerste wedstrijd van het nieuwe jaar! Zoals altijd in de Ijsselhallen in Zwolle, waarbij de wedstrijd verdeelt wordt in 2 sessies. Allebei de klassen zouden in de middagsessie worden verreden, dus reden wij zo rond 8 uur de dam af in Putten. 

Als eerste moesten de Mini's van start. De Riddle trapte af, maar na een wat wilde run ging de blowerbelt eraf na 66.97 meter. Zij kwamen later nog terug want het was een proeftrek. Daarna lukte het de Hothead niet om voorbij de eerste 30 meter te komen. De Lambada 8 was goed opweg om de fullpull te gaan halen, maar de noodstop werd per ongeluk getrokken. Door de gang van de run werd besloten om hen toch een Fullpull toe te kennen, en ze hoefden de run niet over te doen. Vervolgens hadden de Challenger, Backdraft, Reny Mission Impossible en de Gompie flink wilde runs en haalden het einde niet. De Blower Power kwam tot de 63.72 meter en de Exception tot 74.18 meter. De Lambada 9 zou eigenlijk aan de start verschijnen dan, maar tijdens het warmdraaien was er een lifter kapot gegaan. Dus besloten zij om niet te gaan rijden. Waarna Couzijn zelf met de Little Bandit aan de beurt was. Een mooie run volgde, waarbij aan de Fullpull voorbij werd gegaan! We zaten dus in de finale met Lambada 8. Hierna kreeg de Riddle zijn 2e kans. Na flink gesleuteld te hebben kreeg ook de Riddle de geest en behaalde een mooie fullpull. Later zou blijken dat er een grote rafel in de blowerbelt zat en hiervoor geen vervanging was meegenomen, dus zij konden niet terugkomen in de finale. Lambada 8 trapte af in de finale met een flinke afstand van 79.90 meter. De Exeption had als tweede in de finale een afstand van 61.10 gehaald. Daarna was het aan Couzijn om gas te geven. Wij moesten ook nog aan de bak na de eerste run, want er was een stelbout afgebroken. Maar de Little Bandit vocht zich in de tweede run naar een afstand van 77.89 meter, goed genoeg voor een tweede plaats. Tijdens de finalerun was er wederom een stelbout afgebroken, waardoor een klep niet goed werkte. We hebben wel een idee hoe dit kan, en tijd genoeg voor Ahoy om dit op te lossen!

Na de vreugde van de tweede plek bij de mini's moest er snel geschakeld worden door ons. In de Light Modified moest de Eurol Bandit namelijk als tweede tractor van start. Voor ons behaalde de Never Satisfied een fullpull, maar de wedstrijdleiding besloot dat de sleepwagen zwaarder werd afgesteld. Henk ging op het gas, en de Eurol Bandit liep als een gek. Een Fullpull was dan ook het resultaat! De sleepwagen bleef hierna staan. In de flink gevulde klasse behaalden de Wicked Screamer, de Never Satisfied en de Russian Roulette XL ook de finale.  Wij trapten de finale af met een geweldige run, die eindige op een afstand van 78.94 meter. Na ons was het aan de Wicked Screamer om dit te overtreffen. Door een remfout eindigde deze een kleine 70 cm achter ons. Never Satisfied eindigde op 62.43 meter en de Russian Roulette werd derde met een afstand van 72.80. De eerste plaats was dus in de pocket!

Wij hebben besloten deze overwinning op te dragen aan Evert, onze vertrouwde buschauffeur, door problemen met zijn gezondheid kon hij er niet bij zijn die dag. Op deze manier hopen we hem een beetje te kunnen ondersteunen en te laten zien dat onze gedachtes bij hem zijn. Al met al een geslaagde wedstrijd met een (bijna) optimaal resultaat. We zijn de winter goed doorgekomen en zullen jullie hopelijk allemaal wederzien op de wedstrijd in Ahoy op zaterdag 7 maart.

English Version: Great Heralds in Zwolle 

Saturday the 23rd of January it was on again, the first pull of the new year! As always in the Ijsselhallen in Zwolle, whereby the match is divided in 2 sessions. Both classes would be driven in the afternoon session, so around 8 am we took off in Putten.

First off were the Mini's. The Riddle had to start first, but after a somewhat wild run the blowerbelt came off after 66,97 meters. They would return later because it was a testrun. After that the Hothead did not make it past the first 30 meters. The Lambada 8 was well on its way towards a Fullpull, when the kill switch was pulled by accident. Due to the pace of this run the match leaders decided to accredit them a Fullpull anyway, and they did not have to pull again. Afterwards the Challenger, Backdraft, Reny Mission Impossible and the Gompie all had wild runs and did not make it to the end. The Lambada 9 should start then but after gearing up a lifter broke. So they decided not to pull. After which Couzijn was up with the Little Bandit. A nice run followed, where the Fullpull line was crossed. The Riddle then had his second chance. After doing some heavy tinkering the Riddle also got the spirit and reached the Fullpull. Later it would turn out that there was a big loose end in the blowerbelt and there was no replacement for this, so they could not compete in the final. Lambade 8 started in the final with a substantial distance of 79.90 meters. The Exeption reached a distance of 61.10 meters. Then it was Couzijn's turn to put the pedal to the metal. We also had some work done after the first run because an adjusting bolt was broken. But the Little Bandit fought its way to a distance of 77.89 meters in its second run, enough for a second place. During the final run another adjusting bolt was broken, which caused a valve not to work. We have a pretty good idea of how this came about, and there is plenty of time before Ahoy to fix this!

After the joy over the second place at the mini's there was some fast switching to be done by us. In the Light Modified the Eurol Bandit had to start as the second tractor of the class. Before us the Never Satisfied reached the Fullpull, but the match leaders decided that the sledge would become heavier, Henk stepped on the throttle and the Eurol Bandit went on like madness. A Fullpull was the result of this. The Sledge staid the same after our run. In the filled class the Wicked Screamer, Never Satisfied and the Russian Roulette also made it to the final. We started of the final with an amazing run, which ended at 78,94 meters. After us it was up to the Wicked Screamer to outdo this. Caused by a breaking mistake they ended up 70 centimeters behind us. Never Satisfied reached the 62,43 meters and the Russian Roulette took third place with a distance of 72.80 meters. The first place was in the pocket!

​We have decided to dedicate this win to Evert, our trusted bus driver, due to problems with his health he could not be there that day. This way we hope to have supported him a little bit and  to show that our thoughts are with him,
All in all it was a successful day with an (almost) optimal result. We came through the winter very well and will hopefully see you all again at the match on Saturday March the 7th in Ahoy.

Deze winter was het voor ons vooral zaak om de puntjes op de i te zetten wat betreft de tractoren. Bij de Eurol Bandit is een andere vertraging in de achteras gezet. Ook hebben we besloten om de achterste motor te wisselen van een Brad Andersen huis naar een Keith Black huis, dit moet het lekken van de olie hopelijk gaan verminderen. Allebei de motoren zijn volledig uit elkaar geweest. Er nu dan ook zitten nieuwe drijfstangen en zuigers in. Tevens zijn het subframe, de tanks en de dry-sump gespoten. 

Wat betreft de Little Bandit is de motor ook uit elkaar geweest en volledig gereviseerd. Ook is er nu een nieuwe koppeling op de tractor aanwezig en heeft Benny Vreeman voor ons de achteras veranderd. Daar zitten nu een speciaal soort tandwielen in. Tevens is de mini-vrachtwagen aangepakt, er zit nu een zijdeur in en ook is er verlichting in de bak. De tanks gespoten. Tevens heeft de mini weer een aantal sponsoren erbij, ook gaan andere wat meer doen aan sponsoring o.a. Sebo. Natuurlijk is meer sponsoring altijd welkom en is er nog genoeg ruimte op beide tractoren voor meer reclame!

Allebei de tractoren zijn dus afgelopen winter geoptimaliseerd. Afgelopen zaterdag is de Eurol Bandit weer gestart en het klonk weer voorspoedig! De Little Bandit zal eerdaags ook weer worden gestart en zijn we helemaal klaar om er in Zwolle weer iets moois van te maken! De wedstrijd in Zwolle is op zaterdag 23-01-2016, de Light Modified en de Mini Unlimiteds zullen allebei in de middagsessie worden verreden. De kaarten gaan hard dus zorg dat je er op tijd bij bent. In beide klassen zullen de grootste nationale en internationale concurrenten verschijnen, dus het is een mooie voorbode voor het buitenseizoen. Hopelijk zien we jullie daar!

Update from the garage

This winter’s main purpose was to dot the i’s and cross the t’s considering the tractors. In the Eurol Bandit a different suspension has been set in the rear-axle. Moreover we have decided to switch the rear engine from a Brad Anderson to a Keith Black house. This will hopefully lessen the leakage of oil. Both engines have been taken apart completely. There are new connections rods and pistons in both of them. Also the sub frame, the tanks and the dry-sump have been spray painted.

With regards to the Little Bandit the engine also has been taken apart and has been completely revised. Moreover we have put a new clutch on the tractor and Benny Vreeman has changed the rear-axle for us. There are a special kind of cogwheels in the axle now. We also dealt with the mini-truck, we added a side-door and have added lighting in the back. Thirdly the tanks have also been spray painted. Likewise the Little Bandit also has also been able to add some more sponsors, others will also do a little bit more this year such as Sebo. Of course there are always more sponsors appreciated and there is enough room on both tractors for more advertising!

Both tractor have been optimized this winter. Last Saturday the Eurol Bandit started again and it sounded successful again! The Little Bandit will be able to start soon as well and we will be fully ready to put the peddle to the metal in Zwolle. The pull in Zwolle is held at Saturday the 23rd of January 2016, the Light Modified and the Mini Unlimiteds will both be driven in the afternoon session. The tickets are sold out quickly so make sure you get one in time. Both classes will contain our biggests national and international competitors, so it’s a nice indication for the season outside. Hopefully we will see you there!

Op zaterdag 5 september zou de laatste wedstrijd van de Light Modified klasse worden verreden in Tzum, Friesland. Helaas moesten de organisatoren wegens overmatig regenval deze wedstrijd aflassen. Wat dus betekend dat we met de Eurol Bandit ook het Nederlands Kampioenschap gepakt hebben! We hadden het graag nog een keer laten zien, maar evengoed zijn we blij met de winst. Als team hebben we aan het begin van het seizoen enorm hard gewerkt om de tractor op tijd voor Stroe klaar te laten zijn. Maar het hele seizoen is een uitdaging geweest om met 2 tractoren de boel aan de gang te houden en te presteren. We zijn iedereen die ons gesteund heeft dan ook enorm dankbaar, zonder de sponsoren, fans, familie en sponsoren van ons team hadden we deze mooie resultaten nooit kunnen bereiken.  De kracht is dat we dit met zijn allen doen, laat dat duidelijk zijn! Hopelijk sluiten we dit prachtige seizoen a.s. zaterdag 12 september in Brande, Denemarken met een knaller af. De Little Bandit zal dan op het Europese toneel laten zien wat het waard is, met Andre van de Ridder op de bok! Wat de Eurol Bandit betreft, die zien jullie volgend jaar weer strijden! De light Modified rijd op zondag en uit principiële overwegingen rijden we dan niet. Hopelijk tot ziens a.s. zaterdag! 

English Version: Two Dutch Championships in the pocket!


On Saturday the 5th of September the last match of the Light Modified should have been in Tzum, Friesland. Sadly the organizers had to cancel the pull due to too much rainfall. This means that we also became Dutch Champions with the Eurol Bandit.  We would have liked to have pulled once more, but we are still glad with the

Zaterdag 29 augustus was het tijd om af te reizen naar het Brabandse Alphen. Een spannende dag voor ons! Dit was de laatste wedstrijd in de strijd voor het Nederlands Kampioenschap bij de Mini Unlimiteds. Little Bandit stond op de eerste plaats met slechts 1 punt voorsprong op Hella Lambada. Kortom, de strijd was alles behalve beslist. Met Eurol Bandit hadden we tijdens de wedstrijd in Lochem dure punten laten liggen, ook hier waren we erop gebrand om weer terug te komen op de eerste plaats.

De wedstrijd in Alphen werd rond half vier gestart, als tweede klasse was het de beurt aan de Mini Unlimiteds. Er stonden 12 machines aan de start om uit te vechten wie zich dagwinnaar van Alphen mocht gaan noemen.  Pech was er voor The Riddle, door een rare sprong besloot Erik het gas dicht te doen waardoor verdere schade gelukkig uit bleef. Wel eindigde het team hierdoor op een 10e plaats. Couzijn had gelukkig geen last van rare stuiters, en met een mooie run wist hij de Little Bandit op een afstand van 104,36 meter te zetten. De toon was hiermee dus gezet. Ook Wim wist de Hella Lambada te kwalificeren voor de finale. Vampire en Gencom Lambada gingen ook door naar de finale. In de finale zette Vampire als eerste een afstand neer van 88,87  meter. Couzijn mocht als tweede aanhaken en wist de leidersvlag te verzetten naar 91,64 meter. Wel moest Couzijn erg hard remmen om Little Bandit in het rechte spoor te houden en we hoopten dat dit niet teveel meters gekost had. Gencom Lambada wist niet voorbij te komen aan onze afstand, met 87,35 meter was uiteindelijk de vierde plaats voor hem. Maar nu, nog 1 deelnemer te gaan. Hoe spannend kon het zijn. Hella Lambada ging voortvarend van start, maar rond 30 meter begon de motor te roken. 20 meter later was er nog meer rook, maar Wim was erg gebrand om te winnen en hield het gas onderin. Vanaf de 60 meter klonk de motor niet meer helemaal fris, maar toch kwam de Hella Lambada pas tot stilstand op ongeveer gelijke hoogte van de leidersvlag. De lasermeting moest echt de doorslag geven en ook hier werd het extra spannend gemaakt. Door twee maal de afstand 91,?? te laten zien liep de spanning op.  Gelukkig voor ons verscheen er uiteindelijk 91,13 meter om het scorebord. Dit hield in dat we Nederlands kampioen zijn met Little Bandit. Wat een geweldige prestatie in ons tweede jaar in deze klasse.

Natuurlijk was er op dat moment maar korte tijd om een feestje te vieren. Eurol Bandit stond samen met 6 andere tractoren klaar om als volgende klasse te gaan rijden. Nadat Russian Roulette een Full Pull reed in zijn proef run werd de sleepwagen iets zwaarder afgesteld. Wicked Screamer noteerde 109,12 meter op het scorebord, een prima afstelling besloot de wedstrijdleiding. Woody Woodpecker had problemen met de motor, en besloot 6 plaatsen op te schuiven. Eurol Bandit was de volgende machine die aan mocht haken. Henk wist met een mooie run de Keep Moving Orange over de 110 meter te zetten, Full Pull verscheen er op het scorebord. Russian Roulette was daarna de enige machine die zich nog wist te plaatsen voor de finale. Helaas bleef thuisrijder De Jong Special net onder de 100 meter stil staan. 
De top 3 van het klassement ging dus uitvechten wie de sterkste was in Alphen. Wicked Screamer trapte af. Berrie had een goede run en plaatste hiermee de leidersvlag op 99,06 meter. Omdat Eurol Bandit in Lochem nog behoorlijk onderuit zakte was de afstelling en strategie op divers punten veranderd. Dit begon al bij de start, Henk had het gashendel snel onderin. Met een sterke run reed Eurol Bandit maarliefst 3 meter verder als de afstand van Wicked Screamer. 102,18 meter was de afstand die we genoteerd hadden. Voor Russian Roulette bleek deze afstand vandaag te ver. Bij 96,54 meter stond Izaak stil, waardoor de derde plaats voor hem was.

Met deze prestaties hadden we een geweldige dag natuurlijk. Little Bandit Nederlands Kampioen en Eurol Bandit terug aan de leiding in de Light Modified klasse.


English Version: Maximum result in Alphen


Saturday the 19th of August it was time to go to Alphen, in the province Brabant. An exciting day for us! This was the last match in the battle for the Dutch Championship at the Mini Unlimiteds. Little Bandit was in first place with just 1 point more that the Hella Lambada. Shortly, the battle was all but decided upon. With Eurol Bandit we had lost some dear points during the match in Lochem, so here we were also fired up to get back into the first place!

The match in Alphen started around half past 3, the Mini Unlimiteds were up as the second class. There were 12 machines that would make up the day’s victory and losses in Alphen. Bad luck was there for the Riddle, due to a weird jump Erik decided to stop the tractor and by which further damage had been prevented. It give the team a result of the 10th place. Luckily Couzijn did not have any troubles with uneasy bouncing, and with a nice run he was able to pull the Little Bandit towards a distance of 104.36 meters. The bar was set! The Hella Lambada was also able to qualify for the finals, as well as the Vampire and the Lambada 8.  
In the finals it was the Vampire who pulled First and reached a distance of 88.87 meters. Couzijn was up second and was able to change the leader flag to 91.64 meters. Couzijn did have to brake very much to keep the Little Bandit in the right track and we hoped this hadn’t cost us to many meters. Lambada 8 did not reach that distance, with 87.35 meters the fourth place eventually was for them. But now, one more competitor to go. How tense it could be! Hella started off well, but around the 30 meters the engine started to smoke. 20 meters later there was even more smoke, but the driver was set on winning and kept the tractor going. From 60 meters on the engine did not sound well anymore, but the Hella Lambada did not stop until it had reached about the same distance as the leader flag. The laser measurement had to give the end result and they made it even more thrilling, by showing twice the distance 91,??. Luckily for us eventually there was shown 91.13 meters on the scoreboard. This meant that we had achieved first place in the Dutch Competition! What a great performance in our second year in this class!


 Of course there was little time to celebrate at that moment. Eurol Bandit was ready to pull in the next class along with 6 other tractors. After Russian Roulette had achieved a fullpull in his testpull the sledge was set heavier. Wicked Screamer put down 109,12 meters on the scoreboard, a fine distance was decided by the match leaders. Woody Woodpecker had troubles with its engine and decided to move over 6 places. Eurol Bandit was the next machine that started. Henk was able to pull the Keep Moving Orange over the 110 meters, Full Pull was shown on the scoreboard. Russian Roulette was the only tractor that was able to place for the final. Sadly the team of Alphen The Jong Special stopped just below the 100 meters.  The top 3 of the competition would be fighting to be the strongest in Alphen. Wicked Screamer was up first. They had a good run and put the leader flag at 99.06 meters. Because Eurol Bandit’s engines fell down in Lochem  the strategy and engines  had been adjusted on several points. This began at the start where Henk put the pedal to metal immediately. With a strong run the Eurol Bandit came to a distance 3 meters further than the Wicked Screamer. 102,18 meters was the distance we pulled. For Russian Roulette this distance turned out to be too far to reach. At 96.54 the tractor stopped, by which the third place came to be in their possession. With these achievements we had an awesome day of course! Little Bandit Dutch Champion and the Eurol Bandit back in the lead in the Light Modified class.

Zaterdag 1 augustus was het weer zover, de volgende wedstrijd in Lochem waar de strijd om de kampioenschappen onverminderd doordenderde. De Miniklasse zou rond 18u beginnen en een half uur later op de andere baan de Light Modified. Nu wil het geval dat de baan van de Mini’s niet optimaal was en er besloten werd deze open te breken tijdens de wedstrijd. Op de andere baan werd er tegelijkertijd een pauze gehouden, uiteindelijk zijn beide klassen tegelijkertijd begonnen. Een flinke kluif voor ons dus. Als eerste reed de Eurol Bandit in zijn klasse. Met een strakke run langs de rechterkant behaalde Henk een mooie fullpull, de 3e tot dan toe want de Wicked Screamer en de Russian Roullette hadden het ook gered.  Daarna zou de Jong Special zich bij dit rijtje finalisten toevoegen.

Ondertussen op de andere baan waren er al 5 fullpulls behaald voor Couzijn van start ging. Met een dikke fullpull stelde we ons ook daar zeker van de finale. Doordat er schade was bij de Lambada 8, werd de finale gereden tegen de Lambada 9, de Riddle, Butter Let’s Try en de Vampire. Tijdens de voorbereiding van de finale van de mini’s moesten de banden van de Little Bandit nog vervangen worden en de tractor weer opnieuw over de weegbrug laten gaan. Nu het team verdeeld was over 2 tractoren was dit een nog een flinke klus. Hierdoor werd er niet door ons opgevangen dat er tijdens de finale floating finish zou worden gereden tot 110 meter. 


Dan weer terug naar de andere finale. De Russian Roullette werd met 105.41 2e, de Wicked Screamer met 106.03 meter 1e  en de Jong Special met 101.11 meter 3e. Helaas zat er voor ons met de Eurol Bandit niet meer in als de vierde plek omdat de motordruk wat laag was waardoor ze halverwege de run onderuit zakte in toeren. Op dit moment staan we nog 2e in het Nederlands Kampioenschap klassement, de Russian Roullette 1e en de Wicked Screamer met 1 punt achter ons 3e.

Volgt U het nog? Er moest nog een finale gereden worden. Bij de Mini’s stopte de Lambada 9 bij 89.78 meter wegens het bijna buiten de baan gaan van de tractor, de Riddle was goed onderweg tot er plotsklaps een blowerbelt knapte bij 77.64 meter. Daarna kwam de Butter Let’s Try tot 99.87 meter met een mooie run. De Vampire kwam nog verder met de gereden 101.27 meter. Toen was het weer de beurt aan de Little Bandit. Met een snoeiharde run kwam Couzijn tot 113.10, een dikke overwinning dus. Althans het werd even enorm spannend aangezien Couzijn vermeend buiten de baan zou hebben gereden en misschien zou worden gediskwalificeerd. Na enig beraad van de wedstrijdleiding kwam het verlossende woord en werd besloten dat gezien de afstand van de run hij niet binnen de 110 meter buiten de baan gegaan is. Een superdikke 1e plek dus alsnog! Dit betekend dat met 1 wedstrijd te gaan de Little Bandit op de eerste plek staat met 1 punt voor op de Lambada 9. In principe staan beide tractoren zoveel voor op de rest dat de strijd om het kampioenschap zal worden beslist door 1 van beide.

Op zaterdag 29 Augustus is de laatste wedstrijd van de mini klasse in Alphen, de Light modified zal daar ook worden verreden. Maar deze hebben daarna nog 1 wedstrijd te gaan in Tzum. Hopelijk zien we jullie op de 29e om ons aan te moedigen richting het kampioenschap(en)!

English Version: Cutting it close in Lochem 



Saturday the First of August the time was there again, the next pull in Lochem where the battles for the championships would continue. The Mini Class was planned to start at 6 PM and an half hour later the Light Modified would begin at the other track. Thus it was that the track of the Minipullers was not in a good condition and it was decided to break this open during the match. There was held a break at the other track, so eventually both classes started at the same time. So a tough nut to crack for us. First the Eurol Bandit did his qualifying run. With a neat run along the right side of the track Henk rode towards a nice fullpull, the 3rd till then since the Wicked Screamer and the Russian Roullette had also made it. After that the Jong Special would join the final as well with his fullpull.

In the meanwhile there were already 5 fullpulls at the other track before Couzijn started his run. With a nice fullpull we made sure we were in the final as well! Due to damage of the Lambada 8 the final was driven by the Lambada 9, the Riddle, Butter Let’s Try and the Vampire. During the preparation of the final of the Minipullers the tires of the Little Bandit had to be swapped and the tractor had to be weighed again. Now that the team had been divided over two tractors this was a pretty harsh job. Thereby we hadn’t heard that there was going to be a floating finish till the 110 meter line.

Back to the other final. The Russian Roullette became 2nd with a distance of 105.41 meters, the Wicked Screamer with 106.03 meters 1st and the Jong Special with 101.11 meters 3rd. Unfortunately there was not more in there than a 4th place with the Eurol Bandit since the engine pressure was thus low that halfway through the run the engine revs went down big-time. At the moment we are still 2nd in the Dutch Championship, the Russian Roullette First and the Wicked Screamer with 1 point behind us 3rd.

 

Can you still follow? There was another final to be done. At the Mini class the Lambada 9 stopped at 89.78 meters since the tractor was almost outside the track, the Riddle was well on their way until the blowerbelt suddenly snapped at 77.64 meters. After that the Butter Let’s Try came to a distance of 99.87 meters with a nice run. The Vampire took it even further with 101.27 meters. Then it was up to the Little Bandit to do his trick. With a crazy beautiful run Couzijn came to a distance of 113.10 meters, a big fat win thus. However it became hugely tense since the Little Bandit was supposed to have been outside the white line and maybe would be disqualified. After certain discussion of the Match leaders the freeing word came out and was decided that the tractor had not been out of bounce within the 110 meters due to the distance of the run. A big fat win after all! This means that with no less or more matches than 1 to go the Little Bandit is leader in the classification of the Mini Class, with 1 point ahead of Lambada 9. Both tractors are ahead of the rest so much that the battle for the First place will be decided upon by one of both.

On Saturday the 29th of August the last match of the Mini Class will be pulled in Alphen, the Light Modified will compete there as well. But they have also one more match to go after that in Tzum. Hopefully we will see you on the 29th to cheer us on towards the Championship(s)!

Na de wedstrijd in Eext moesten we nog flink aan de bak in de schuur om de Little Bandit en de Eurol Bandit optijd klaar te hebben voor de wedstrijd van 11 juli in Putten. Een gedeelte van het team heeft namelijk geholpen bij de opbouw van de Beachpull en er bleek nog schade te zitten in een van de motoren van de Eurol Bandit. Vrijdagavond om 11u is deze nog gestart en bleek deze weer goed te lopen. 


Op zaterdag waren de minipullers als 2e klasse aan de beurt op de Eurocup baan. De Little Bandit mocht als eerste van start en Couzijn zette meteen de toon met een mooie fullpull. De sleepwagen werd daarna niet meer veranderd en zijn run was dus meteen officieel. Daarna waren het de Hella Lambada, Lambada 8 en de Riddle die ook een fullpull wisten te behalen. Dit bracht ons meteen het mooie nieuws dat de Little Bandit Eurocup kampioen was geworden, aangezien hij de vierde plek in Putten moest behalen vanwege zijn grote voorsprong in het klassement.

Maar terug naar de wedstrijd, Couzijn moest dus ook weer als eerste in de finale rijden. Door problemen met zijn schakelbak zette Couzijn de motor uit voor de sleepwagen omdat zijn achteruit het niet meer deed. Nadat de tractor naar achter was geduwd kon hij toch van start. Het was een moeizame run waarbij hij tot een afstand van 64.65 meter kwam, niet heel best dus. Toen was de Lambada 8 aan de beurt, deze kwam niet verder dan de Little Bandit, 62.66 meter. Het werd ons duidelijk dat de sleepwagen enorm zwaar stond, achteraf is verklaard door de sleepwagenbemanning dat ze een fout hadden gemaakt tijdens het opschakelen voor de finale. De Riddle kwam ook niet verder als 64.30 meter en alleen de Hella Lambada was sterk genoeg om voorbij te gaan aan de afstand van de Little Bandit, 67.95 meter. Dit zorgde ervoor dat de dagoverwinning naar de Hella Lambada ging, de Little Bandit 2e en de Riddle 3e. Een hartstikke mooie uitslag, zeker gezien het podium van het klassement van de Eurocup. Little Bandit 1e, Hella Lambada 2e en de Riddle 3e. Zo kwam de grootste beker toch in Putten terecht!

 Na een korte pauze was het de beurt aan de Light Modifieds. De Eurol Bandit startte als laatste in de kwalificatie omdat we dit jaar niet ingeschreven stonden in de Eurocup met de Light Modified. Voor ons waren het de Russian Roullette, Asterix, Wicked Screamer, Black Power en de Double Screamin die een fullpull behaalde, een beste finale al dus. Henk ging rustig van start en moest 1 tikje op de rem doen om te voorkomen dat de trekker  nog meer naar links zou trekken en verder ging de Eurol Bandit als de brandweer, zoals vanouds! Een dikke fullpull was het resultaat. In de pull-of was het de Double Screamin die het verst kwam met 100.93 meter voordat wij wederom van start mochten. Ditmaal kwam de tractor iets hoger, wat meer snelheid meegaf maar helaas hield de voorste motor er op een gegeven moment mee op waardoor we 40 centimeter te kort kwamen voor de eindoverwinning. De tweede plek was toch in de pocket! We waren hier ook enorm blij mee want de tractor loopt weer en we hadden veel veranderd. Dit laat zien dat we op de goede weg zijn. Omdat de Double Screamin niet in de Nederlandse competitie meedoet hebben we goede zaken gedaan voor het klassement. We staan momenteel gedeeld eerste met de Russian Roullette!

Het was een fantastisch weekend op de Beachpull! De volgende wedstrijd zal worden verreden in Lochem op 1 augustus, hier zullen beide tractoren weer verschijnen. Enorm spannend zal het zeker weer zijn, hopelijk tot dan!

English Version: A great weekend at the Beachpull!


After the pull in Eext there was a massive amount of work still to be done to get the Little Bandit and the Eurol Bandit ready in time for the match of July 11th in Putten. A part of the team helped with the preparation of the Beachpull and there appeared to be some damage in one of the engines of the Eurol Bandit. Fridaynight at 11 o’clock the tractor was started and seemed to be sounding well again.

On Saturday the minipullers were up as the 2nd class on the Eurocup track. The Little Bandit was starting first and Couzijn raised the bar with a nice fullpull. The sledge did not change afterwards and the run was official immediately. After that the Hella Lambada, Lambada 8 and the Riddle were also able to get to the fullpull line. This brought us the nice news that the Little Bandit was the Eurocup champion, this because he needed to get in fourth due to the big lead we had in the league. But back to the match, Couzijn was also up first in the pull-of. Because of problems with his gearbox Couzijn turned off the engine in front of the sledge since his reverse did not work anymore. After the tractor was pushed backwards he was able to start. It was a tough run whereby he came to a distance of 64.65 meters, not to good. Then the Lambada 8 was up, they did not get any further than the Little Bandit, 62.66 meters. It became clear to us that the sledge was way heavy, in the aftermath the sledge crew admitted that they had made a mistake during the adjustment for the final. The Riddle did not get further than 64.30 meters and just the Hella Lambada was strong enough to go by the distance of the Little Bandit, 67.95 meters. This all made for the win of the day to go to the Hella Lambada, the Little Bandit 2nd and the Riddle 3rd. A great result, especially when looking at the final trophy stage of the Eurocup competition. Little Bandit 1st, Hella Lambada 2nd and the Riddle 3rd. This way the biggest cup did end up in Putten!

After a short break it was up to the Light Modifieds. The Eurol Bandit started last in the qualification because we did not enter the Eurocup this year with the Light Modified. Before us it were the Russian Roullette, Asterix, Wicked Screamer, Black Power and the Double Screamin that came to a fullpull, a big finale so far. Henk left of calmly and had to tap once on the brake to prevent the tractor from pulling more to the left and further the Eurol Bandit was on fire, as of old! A great fullpull was the result. In the pull-of it had been the Double Screamin that came the furthest with 100.93 meters before we were able to start again. This time the tractor came a little bit higher, which gave us some speed but sadly the front engine stopped at some point which led us to a distance 40 centimeters short for the victory. But the second place was in the pocket! This shows that we are on the right track.  Since the Double Screamin does not compete in the National Dutch competition we got full points for the league. Momentarily we have a shared first place with the Russian Roullette!

It was a great weekend at the Beachpull! The next pull will be in Lochem on August the 1st, both tractors will appear there. Very thrilling it will surely be, hopefully see you there!

Met alleen de Little Bandit verschenen we aan de start bij de Eurocup wedstrijd op 20 juni in Made. De Light modified werd daar wel verreden maar op de zondag. Door middel van het schrapresultaat maakt het voor het kampioenschap niet uit dat we deze niet rijden. De mini’s gingen als derde klasse van start. Als eerste mocht de Riddle aftrappen, deze kwamen met een wilde run buiten de baan terecht. Maar dit was de proeftrek dus zij mochten later terugkomen en het nog een keer proberen. De Lambada 8, Lambada 9, Vampire en de Riddle (2e keer) behaalden een fullpull. Gelukkig maakte Couzijn de hooggespannen verwachtingen waar en deed hetzelfde! De Lambada 8 trapte de finale af met een afstand van 107.56 meter. Daarna was weer de beurt aan de Little Bandit, doordat deze veel moest remmen kwamen we niet verder als 95.88 meter. Door het grote verschil met de Lambada zaten we best een beetje in spanning of het ver genoeg zou zijn voor het podium. Maar uiteindelijk kwam de Riddle met 95.45 het dichtst bij en was de 2e plek vastgesteld! Wat zijn we ontzettend blij met deze podiumplek aangezien de Little Bandit nu 1e staat in de strijd om de Eurocup, met 11 punten los, en 1e in de strijd in de Nederlandse competitie. De Eurol Bandit staat, ondanks afwezigheid in Made, nog steeds 3e in Nederlandse competitie. De Eurol Bandit zal pas weer verschijnen in Putten, de thuiswedstrijd op 11 juli. Maar we vervelens ons zeker niet, deze aanstaande weken gaan we weer hard aan de slag met de mini om deze klaar te stomen voor de wedstrijd in Eext op zaterdag 4 juli!

English version: Good business in Made

With just the Little Bandit we arrived at the start of the Eurocup on the 20th of June in Made. The Light Modified was on the agenda there but on the Sunday. By means of the deleteresult it would not matter for the championship if we would not partake there. The mini’s were up as the third class of the day. First off was the Riddle, they had a wild run which ended outside the track. But this was a testpull so they could try again later. The Lambada 8, Lambada 9, Vampire and the Riddle (2nd time) had all gotten to the fullpull line. Luckily Couzijn exceeded all the high expectations and did the same! The Lambada 8 was first up in the final with a distance of 107.56 meters. After that it was up to the Little Bandit again, due to much braking we did not get further than 95.88 meters. Because of the big distance with Lambada 8 we were in a little suspense if this would be far enough for the trophy stage. But eventually the Riddle came closest with 95.45 meters and the 2nd place was secured. We are extremely happy with this place because the Little Bandit is now first in the standing for the Eurocup competition, ahead by 11 points, and first place in the Dutch competition. The Eurol Bandit, despite absence in made, is still 3rd in the Dutch competition. The Eurol Bandit will not compete until Putten, our home pull on the 11th of July. But we won’t get bored, the next couple of weeks we will work hard on the mini to get it ready for the pull in Eext on Saturday the 4th of July!
